The Supervisory Board of Hidroelectrica decided, on May 29, 2026, to appoint Iulius-Dan Plaveti as the president of the company's Directorate, according to a report sent to the Bucharest Stock Exchange. Plaveti will hold this position until November 7, 2027, officially taking over the mandate after resigning from all other positions held. As part of the selection process, Mihail-Dan Stan was also appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Iulius-Dan Plaveti has significant experience in leading state institutions, having held important positions such as president of ANRE, interim general director of TAROM, and manager of the Oltenia Energy Complex. The withdrawal of his opponent, Bogdan Badea, from the race for the position of general director was influenced by political pressures, but Badea will remain as investment director at Hidroelectrica. This appointment ensures the continuity of the company's management for the next period.
