The Bucharest Court of Appeal decided on Thursday to annul the selection procedure for the members of the Directorate of the national electricity transmission company Transelectrica, thus maintaining a ruling of the Bucharest Tribunal from December 2025. The court's decision is not final and can be contested with an appeal within 30 days, but it is enforceable, having immediate effects.

The court rejected the appeal filed by Transelectrica, considering it unfounded, as well as the request for accessory intervention by the company. By maintaining the substantive ruling, the entire selection procedure is annulled, and the appointment of the Directorate resulting from it no longer has legal grounds, which may generate significant implications for the management and operation of the company.
