Cosmin Ghiță will leave his position as CEO of Nuclearelectrica on October 2, 2026, after nearly nine years at the helm of the state-owned company. In his farewell message, he spoke about the strategic projects developed during his term, as well as the objectives that remain unfinished.

Ghiță says that the value of SNN shares increased by approximately 600% during this period. The projects mentioned include the modernization of Unit 1 and the development of Units 3 and 4 at Cernavodă, SMR technology, the detritiation facility, medical isotope production, and the consolidation of the integrated nuclear fuel cycle.

He also mentioned estimated financing of approximately €15 billion for the company’s strategic projects, including small modular reactors. The unfinished objectives include a regional center of excellence for nuclear training, operations, and maintenance.

Starting October 2, interim management will be taken over by Mihai Laurențiu Gioară for no more than five months, with the possibility of a single two-month extension.

The change comes at a sensitive time for Nuclearelectrica. Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan’s Control Corps reported problems with the partnership with Nova Power&Gas for the SMR project in Doicești and recommended examining the liability of certain individuals involved. The company rejected the report’s conclusions.:VEVENT»final 代json હેઠ? Wait. Need exact valid JSON, no artifact. Ensure event_translation schema doesn't mention slug? User exact includes slug.
