The National Meteorological Administration (ANM) has announced that, starting from July 30, Romania will be under the influence of a heat wave, with significant thermal discomfort and tropical nights.

The meteorological information is valid until August 3, when it is expected that the temperature-humidity index (THI) will exceed the critical threshold of 80 units.

The western and southwestern regions will be the most affected initially, with maximum temperatures between 33 and 39 degrees Celsius.

ANM has issued a yellow heat warning for the counties of Olt, Dolj, Mehedinți, Caraș-Severin, Timiș, Arad, Bihor, and Satu Mare, where tropical nights will be recorded. Additionally, between July 31 and August 1, the counties of Bihor, Arad, and Timiș will be under an orange warning, with temperatures around 38 degrees.

Meteorologists warn that the heat wave will continue even after August 3, intensifying between August 3 and 9, affecting more and more areas of the country.
