The Public Transport Company (CTP) Arad has completed preparations for the implementation of the cheapest transport fares in the country, starting from August 1. Thus, a travel ticket will cost 1 leu and will be valid for 24 hours, in contrast to the current price of 4.5 lei, valid for 90 minutes.

The CTP director, Claudiu Godja, announced that the new tickets will be available at the ticket offices in stations and online, and the modifications to the electronic system will be made on the night of July 31. Additionally, a weekly pass will cost 5 lei, and a monthly one will cost 20 lei, compared to 120 lei currently. CTP will continue the "Green Friday" program, offering free transport every Friday.

The fare reduction was approved by local councilors to reduce pollution and car traffic, promoting electric transport as an ecological solution.
