The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) rejected the proposal to maintain judges' pensions at 70% of the net salary, requesting a percentage of 65% of the gross, similar to other categories of civil servants. The Vice President of CSM, Claudiu Sandu, emphasized that the current proposal does not respect the principle of equity, considering that there are pensions higher than the salary for some retirees, without legislative interventions. Sandu criticized the Prime Minister's approach, which targets only active judges, leaving the large pensions of those who retired earlier unaffected. He also mentioned that judges' pensions should be close to the last income, to ensure financial security after retirement. In the context of these discussions, protests organized by civil society are planned, demanding real reforms of special pensions and the application of the principle of contribution.
