Metrorex has issued the construction permit for Line 6, which will connect the metro network with Henri Coandă Airport.

Metrorex has announced the issuance of the construction authorization for the project 'Line 6: 1 Mai - Otopeni', which will connect the metro network to Henri Coandă International Airport. This document represents an important step in the implementation of an essential infrastructure project for public transport in Romania, part of the trans-European transport network TEN-T.

The value of the authorized works exceeds 1.037 billion lei, and the execution duration is estimated at 31 months from the start of the works. The works are carried out by a consortium of companies, with Somet SA as the leader. Currently, the structural framework is under construction, having a progress of 66% on the South Section (1 Mai - Tokyo) and 32% on the North Section (Tokyo - Otopeni Airport). The project is considered of public utility and of national interest, according to Government Decision no. 496/2017, contributing to the development of the trans-European transport network.
