Metrorex will impose traffic restrictions on DN1 in Otopeni, on the direction toward Bucharest, starting Tuesday, October 13, 2026. For 10 days, traffic will move on two lanes instead of three, in the area of the future Bruxelles metro station, to allow work along the edge of the road.
Lane 1 and the prepared area will be closed and marked with illuminated barriers. The work includes removing the existing curbs, milling and paving the area. Metrorex says the prepared surface will not be opened to traffic at this stage. No new restrictions have been announced on the Bucharest–Otopeni direction.
The measure has been approved by CNAIR and the Road Directorate within the Romanian Police and represents the first stage of work in the area of the future Bruxelles station. Subsequent stages will be announced separately. Drivers are advised to follow the temporary signage and plan their journeys in advance.
Metro Line 6 will link Gara de Nord with Henri Coandă Airport. The line will be 14.2 kilometers long, with 12 stations and two sections, and construction began in December 2023. The project is worth more than 10.45 billion lei, including VAT.
