Traffic on the A1 Motorway will be suspended between the Cisnădie and Boița interchanges from October 5 to December 19, 2026, for work on Lot 2 of the Sibiu–Pitești Motorway. The measure is necessary to build a road overpass in the Boița area, where traffic could be endangered by the works carried out by the contractor.
The National Road Infrastructure Administration Company announces that the works will begin on Monday, October 5. The Turkish Mapa-Cengiz consortium will build an overpass over the ramp that carries traffic from the A1 onto DN7.
The overpass is part of the Boița interchange and will provide a connection between the A1 Motorway and the future A13 Motorway. The structure will be built using the balanced cantilever method, with a mobile metal formwork system.
During the restrictions, drivers will be redirected onto DN7, along the Boița–Tălmaciu–Veștem route. From Veștem, traffic will continue on DN1 to the Cisnădie area, where drivers will be able to rejoin their usual route.
