Ciprian Ciucu announces selections for the boards of directors of five municipal companies in Bucharest

Bucharest General Mayor Ciprian Ciucu announced Friday the launch of selections for the boards of directors of five municipal companies in Bucharest. The announcements were published on the website of the Bucharest City Hall, and applications may be submitted until November 16. The mandates of the selected members will last four years.

The procedure covers Municipal Parking Company, Municipal Energetica Servicii Company, Metropolitan Buildings Trust, Service Ciclop and Municipal Eco Igienizare Company. Ciucu said he is seeking to professionalize and depoliticize the municipal companies and stressed that the process must be transparent, clear and lawful.

The first stage involves the administrative verification of applications, requesting any necessary clarifications, eliminating incomplete applications and drawing up the long list. In the second stage, applications will be assessed, the shortlist will be established and candidates will take part in the final interview.

On August 20, the Bucharest General Council updated the procedures for selecting the management of eight municipal companies and approved the relevant committees and regulations.
