Ciprian Ciucu, the general mayor of the Capital, stated that the judicial control imposed by the DNA limits the exercise of his mandate, including the inability to contact the mayor of Sector 6, Paul Moldovan, who has not been heard in the corruption case.
Ciucu has been under judicial control since June 18, being investigated for bribery in connection with building permits issued in exchange for electoral advertising services. Although he has no prohibitions in exercising his function, he faces obligations that restrict his movements, including participation in international meetings.
The mayor announced that he will contest the judicial control again, emphasizing that he considers himself innocent and that he will continue to defend his rights. The DNA accusations refer to alleged benefits obtained during the electoral campaign, which Ciucu denies, stating that he did not request any benefit in exchange for the issuance of urban planning documents.
