On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, the Bucharest Tribunal rejected Mayor General Ciprian Ciucu’s complaint against the extension of judicial supervision ordered by DNA prosecutors in the case in which the mayor is being investigated for bribery. The ruling is final.

The court rejected both the appeal against the DNA order of October 14 and Ciucu’s request to modify the obligations imposed for the duration of the preventive measure. The mayor general was ordered to pay 500 lei in legal costs advanced by the state.

Ciprian Ciucu has been under judicial supervision since June, and prosecutors have extended the measure twice. Each time, the mayor challenged the decision in court, without success. Upon leaving the Bucharest Tribunal, he said he considered himself innocent and would continue to file appeals because he wanted to complete his term without this measure.

According to the DNA allegations, during the November–December 2025 election campaign, Ciucu allegedly received advertising and electoral consulting services from two businesspeople in exchange for issuing a permit and an urban planning certificate for a real estate project. The allegations have not been established by a final court ruling.
