The deal, valued at $6.5 billion, will bring Jony Ive, former Apple design chief, to the OpenAI team, where he will help create innovative devices for generative artificial intelligence. OpenAI is also negotiating with Microsoft to revise the existing partnership in the context of a future IPO. There are discussions about a possible reduction in Microsoft's stake in exchange for access to leading AI technologies developed by OpenAI.
