OpenAI is in discussions with Amazon for a potential investment that could exceed 10 billion dollars, according to confidential sources. These discussions come after the company's restructuring in October and highlight the extensive partnership with Microsoft, which has invested over 13 billion dollars in OpenAI but no longer has preferential rights over computing services. Amazon, which previously invested in rival Anthropic, is looking to increase and expand its presence in the field of generative artificial intelligence. OpenAI has recently committed significant amounts for infrastructure, including a 38 billion dollar contract with AWS, and has completed a secondary sale of shares worth 6.6 billion dollars, valuing the company at 500 billion dollars.
