Meta intends to raise up to $95 billion through the sale of shares to finance the expansion of its artificial intelligence infrastructure. The company that owns Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp launched public offerings worth approximately $35 billion on Monday and is preparing a separate financing program of up to $60 billion.
According to Reuters and CNBC, the second phase will begin after new non-voting shares are listed for trading, a process expected in the first quarter of 2027. Meta says the funds will be used to expand the infrastructure and processing capacity needed to develop artificial intelligence and “personal superintelligence.”
The plan has attracted the interest of major chipmakers. Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom have expressed their intention to purchase up to $5 billion worth of Meta shares.
The company led by Mark Zuckerberg is investing heavily in data centers and processors to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic. For 2026, Meta estimates capital expenditures of between $135 billion and $145 billion, amid the global race to develop AI technologies.
