Radu Miruță, the Minister of Economy, expressed criticism regarding the turnover tax, considering it an ineffective measure in achieving the goal of increasing state revenues. In his statements, he emphasized that, although there is a general desire to improve budget revenues, this form of taxation fails to produce the desired results.
"You should know that the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance and all members of the Government, I hope, are aware that you cannot live just by cutting. So you have no money, but it is not okay to cut everywhere to bring in more money, because you risk reaching that inflection point where you have cut so much, leaving no air for others to produce money." said Radu Miruță, on Wednesday evening, at Digi 24.
