At the conference 'Cohesion 2027+', President Nicușor Dan emphasized the importance of expanding the European Union in Moldova, Ukraine, and the Western Balkans, considering it an investment in security. He highlighted that the global economy is becoming increasingly competitive and that the fragmentation of Europe affects economic competitiveness. Dan mentioned that the European Union must pay attention to the disparities between member states to avoid increasing the economic gap and social tensions.
Romania will support the EU's expansion, emphasizing the necessity for new states to meet the Union's standards. He stated that countries wishing to join, such as the Republic of Moldova, will have Romania's support in this endeavor.
