Radu Miruță, the Minister of Economy, stated that the fiscal measures and the strategy to reduce government spending will require approximately six to seven months to generate visible results. He emphasized the importance of collecting debts to the state budget, which are significant and uncollected. Miruță mentioned that Bucharest contributes 30% to Romania's GDP, making the economic situation in the capital relevant.
The government is facing a large deficit and costly loans, and the fiscal measures must be balanced to avoid overburdening taxpayers. The minister also highlighted the need to properly manage the relationship with the business environment, eliminating preferential practices and ensuring fair competition. He promised to work on improving transparency and fairness in the public procurement process.
