Radu Miruță, the Minister of Economy, discussed the necessity of layoffs in the central administration, mentioning that the state can no longer afford high salary expenses. He proposed a 10% reduction in these expenses, without affecting the salaries of all employees. The layoffs will be based on professionalism and workload, considering that some employees do not fulfill their tasks properly.

"It is not a satisfaction for me to let people go. However, I look at the ministry, I spend 14 hours a day there, some are very good, but some... you send them the same paper back three times and they write it with the same mistake. And not because they don't want to, but because they haven't taken a real exam when they got there. Working in the Government of Romania should be a benchmark," said Radu Miruță on Wednesday evening, on Digi 24.
