Sorin Grindeanu stated that the PSD has decided to remain in power following an internal consultation process, where nearly 5,000 members voted for the continuation of collaboration in the right-wing coalition. He emphasized that the PSD is the only social-democratic party in this coalition and that it is not easy to collaborate with four other parties, plus a minority group.

Grindeanu mentioned that social democrats do not want to be just "hand-raisers" and that they will openly criticize any excesses in governance. He also responded to accusations that the PSD behaves as if it were in opposition, emphasizing that PSD ministers participate in government meetings and that disagreements with USR are frequent.
