Romania and Ukraine are exploring the possibility of co-producing drones within the European SAFE program, according to discussions between the Minister of National Defense, Radu Miruță, and the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Sergiy Boyev. The project benefits from an allocation of 200 million euros, and Miruță emphasized the importance of the Ministry of National Defense playing a central role in this partnership, not just being a beneficiary. Romanian authorities intend to form a dedicated team for this project, with the contract signing deadline set for the end of May. Romania will be able to leverage Ukraine's military experience and will have access to personnel and infrastructure for military technology production. This collaboration will also benefit Ukraine by funding drone production. Technical discussions will continue, involving 15 Ukrainian companies that will present their capabilities.
