Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan has not confirmed whether he will attend Tuesday’s hearings of the Senate’s Committee on Constitutional Affairs regarding his meeting with CCR President Simina Tănăsescu, after missing the previous summonses. A new date for the hearing was set for September 15, but Bolojan said he would make a decision depending on when he receives the invitation and on his schedule.

Last week, during an appearance on B1 TV, Bolojan said that his busy schedule had prevented him from appearing before the committee. He mentioned meetings concerning energy, the nuclear sector, and the Modernisation Fund.

The interim prime minister criticized the Senate’s initiative, describing it as “a political-type action.” Bolojan argued that the inquiry had been launched to generate issues unrelated to reality and accused it of being “a committee conceived for harassment purposes.” So far, he has not appeared at the hearings, citing the incompatibility between the summonses and his official schedule.
