Approximately 60,000 toys from China, suspected of infringing the intellectual property rights of well-known brands, were discovered and seized at the Port of Constanța. The goods, valued at more than 700,000 lei, were intended to be delivered to a company in Ukraine.

The container was inspected by a team made up of border police officers from the Constanța Sud-Agigea Border Crossing Point and customs inspectors from the Constanța Sud-Agigea Border Customs Office.

Following the physical inspection, the authorities identified toys that could bear trademarks identical or similar to those registered for identical or similar products. The border police opened an investigation into the distribution of products suspected of harming intellectual property rights holders.

The entire quantity was seized and will undergo an expert examination. After the checks are completed, the authorities will determine whether the products are counterfeit and will order the legally required measures.
