Border police officers and customs inspectors discovered, on October 16, 2026, in the Port of Constanța, 28 packages containing undeclared goods suspected of being counterfeit, estimated at more than two million lei. The products were found in a container that arrived from China and was destined for a commercial company in Ukraine.

The physical inspection of the container was carried out by a joint team consisting of border police officers from the Constanța Border Crossing Point and customs inspectors from the Constanța Border Customs Office.

The packages contained electronic products, footwear and toys. According to the authorities, the goods are suspected of infringing the intellectual property rights of well-known brands.

The border police seized the products for expert examination and further investigation. The investigation concerns the circulation of products bearing a mark identical or similar to a registered trademark, as well as possible offenses under the Customs Code, through the non-declaration of the goods. Upon completion of the checks, the legal measures will be ordered.
