Border police officers from the Coast Guard discovered on Friday, at the Constanța Sud–Agigea Border Crossing Point, a car valued at approximately €70,000 that was wanted by Swedish authorities for confiscation. The vehicle was in a semi-trailer transported by a road-train vehicle driven by an Uzbek citizen.

During the inspection, the officers checked the car’s documents and chassis number. Database checks showed that the vehicle was listed as an asset sought by the Swedish authorities.

The car was due to be loaded onto a RO-RO vessel used for the international transport of goods and exported to Georgia. The vehicle was seized pending further investigation.

The authorities opened a criminal case for the offense of receiving stolen goods, provided for under Article 270(1) of the Criminal Code. The investigation will determine the circumstances in which the car was transported and the intentions of those involved in the export operation.
