Emanuel Ungureanu, USR deputy, stated that he has suspicions regarding a possible 'whitewashing' of the case concerning former Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu's flights with Nordis. Ungureanu filed a criminal complaint in December 2024, accusing Ciolacu of involvement in the Nordis affair, which affected 1,200 people. He mentioned that Ciolacu provided contradictory explanations and presented suspicious invoices.

Recently, Ungureanu was summoned by the DNA Suceava as a witness, but he received a subpoena at the wrong address. He requested clarifications about the status of the case and expressed concern that prosecutor Voineag might try to protect Ciolacu. Ungureanu emphasized that justice in Romania is politically influenced and expects prosecutors to act courageously in this case.
