PSD's conditions for supporting Siegfried Mureșan as head of the Government

The Social Democratic Party „asked”, on Friday, the designated prime minister, Siegfried Mureșan, to publicly present his plan for Romania and „clarify” whether he considers the Bolojan Government’s policies „correct and intends to continue them or believes that Romania needs a change of direction”.

In a message posted on the party’s Facebook page, PSD stressed that „discussions about votes for a parliamentary majority” must take place after the designated prime minister says „concretely what he proposes for the economy and for Romanians’ standard of living”.

In this regard, PSD poses Mureșan a series of questions, namely whether he will continue the austerity policy, whether he will maintain the current tax burden, and what measures he proposes for „protecting purchasing power, supporting Romanian companies and preserving jobs”.

The PSD message comes just a few minutes before the designated prime minister is due to hold a press conference alongside the leaders of the PNL, UDMR and USR on the „subject of forming the government”.

The designated prime minister needs 233 votes to pass the vote in Parliament; however, at this moment, Siegfried Mureșan does not have them.
