Grindeanu: PSD will not vote for the Bolojan 2.0 Government, referring to designated prime minister Siegfried Mureșan

PSD President Sorin Grindeanu announced on Monday that the social democrats had decided within their leadership forum that they would not vote for the Siegfried Mureșan government in Parliament.

“PSD votes only for a government of which it is a part (…). PSD cannot vote for Siegfried Mureșan,” declared Sorin Grindeanu, who referred to PSD as “the mature one in the room” throughout this period.

“PSD cannot endorse through its vote the continuation of this economic model of disaster. We saw that Mr. Mureșan, including this morning, proudly announced that he wants to be Mr. Bolojan’s disciple. That is why PSD cannot vote for him. We and more than 80% of Romanians do not trust that, under the false banner of reform, no new cuts will be made,” the social-democratic leader said, according to TVR Info.

Without PSD’s support, the PNL–USR–UDMR coalition has no chance of getting the Siegfried Mureșan government through Parliament except with AUR, but UDMR has ruled out a majority built with AUR votes. At the same time, the designated prime minister has ruled out any negotiations with AUR, whether official or informal. He specified that he would not go to the party headquarters and would not seek its support, emphasizing that the party had not so far indicated that it intended to vote for the proposed Government.
