The Special Forces of Uganda, known as the Special Forces Command (SFC), is increasingly seen as a private army meant to keep in power the 81-year-old president, Yoweri Museveni, alongside his ever-expanding family dynasty. The SFC is led by Museveni's son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who has brought his own son into this unit. Analysts raise concerns that the SFC could come into conflict with the regular army, which could lead to a civil war, similar to the situation in Sudan.
