Maye Musk said that her eldest son, Elon Musk, was bullied and assaulted during his childhood, including being beaten so severely that he ended up in hospital. The revelations appear in her memoir, “Timeless: The Art of Reinvention and Resilience at Any Age,” which is due to be published on Tuesday, and in an interview with The Telegraph.
The model and nutritionist says she realized Elon was a genius from the age of three because he thought in an unusual way for a child. However, she never imagined that he would go on to create companies valued at billions of dollars.
According to her account, Elon was very different from his siblings, Kimbal and Tosca. He had few friends, was passionate about books, video games, computers and programming, and struggled with socializing. Teachers considered him a “dreamer,” but he excelled in physics and mathematics.
Maye Musk says she still worries about her children, especially Elon, whom she says is often portrayed negatively in the media. She considers him a pioneer in innovation and green energy and says she supports him, even though she sometimes does not understand his projects.
