The international activist group Capytistas intends to publish, starting in November, addresses of residences associated with Elon Musk, his brother Kimbal Musk, and members of Tesla’s leadership, according to a WIRED investigation. The organization says the action targets billionaires’ influence on American politics.
The activists say they have collected more than 3,500 documents and information over nearly a year about the wealth, properties, and business relationships of people whose combined fortunes total approximately $1.4 trillion. The group says it could publish more than 150 addresses, although it has not yet set the exact date of the first disclosure.
WIRED reviewed a dossier containing 32 addresses associated with Musk and several Tesla executives. Publishing such data is known as doxing and can expose the targeted individuals, their families, and their neighbors to harassment or threats.
Musk was chosen as the first target because of his prominence and involvement in American politics. According to WIRED, he has directed more than $700 million toward federal elections since 2023 and held a temporary position in the Trump administration in 2025.
The campaign comes after protests and attacks targeting Tesla vehicles and dealerships in at least nine U.S. states. Capytistas says it does not seek violence, but the information could be used by people outside the organization. Tesla did not respond to WIRED’s requests for comment.
