President Donald Trump requested, through a document filed on Monday, to voluntarily withdraw from his $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS. In this lawsuit, initiated in January, Trump, along with his sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as the Trump organization, accused the IRS and the Treasury Department of failing to prevent the leak of their tax returns by a former IRS employee. Last month, the judge overseeing the case raised questions about the existence of a real controversy, considering Trump's control over the Department of Justice. In the document filed on Monday, the president's personal attorneys argued that the court should not rule, as he is voluntarily withdrawing from the lawsuit, and the administration has not responded to the complaint. Representatives of Trump's legal team and those of the Department of Justice did not provide immediate comments.
