The US government refunded 81 billion dollars in tariffs imposed by Donald Trump, declared illegal by the Supreme Court.

The United States government has refunded, in this fiscal year, 81 billion dollars in customs duties, a significant amount compared to just 5 billion dollars in the same period last year. This refund was prompted by the Supreme Court's decision in February, which annulled a large part of the tariffs imposed by former President Donald Trump.

The tariffs were an integral part of Trump's economic strategy, aimed at bringing factories back to the U.S. and reducing the budget deficit. However, the deficit has risen again, reaching 1.367 trillion dollars in the first nine months of the fiscal year.

Additionally, spending on interest for public debt has exceeded 1 trillion dollars, and military spending has increased by 5% due to conflicts in the Middle East. The temporary global tariff of 10% is set to expire on July 25, but the White House is preparing new customs duties.
