Three hurricanes, Lowell, Karina, and Marie, have appeared in the Pacific Ocean, generated by the climatic phenomenon El Niño, which causes the warming of ocean waters.

Marie is currently a tropical storm, but experts from the American National Hurricane Center anticipate that it will soon become a hurricane. Hurricanes Lowell and Karina are classified with a level four intensity, and meteorologists estimate that they will skirt the American shores, although their trajectory remains uncertain, which could affect Hawaii, recently hit by Hurricane Lala.

Specialists warn about the intensification of winds and precipitation in American regions. Julia Cole, a climatologist at the University of Michigan, emphasizes that the warming related to El Niño favors the formation of these storms.

The American Oceanic Observation Agency estimates a 69% probability that the El Niño of 2026 will become the most intense ever recorded, and extreme weather phenomena are already being felt globally, with the peak expected in November.

This is not the first episode of this kind, as in 2015 four consecutive cyclones were recorded in the same oceanic region.
