The United States and Mexico have signed an agreement that allows Mexican authorities to purchase drones and anti-drone systems through the American military's digital marketplace, at competitive costs.
The U.S. Ambassador to Mexico City, Ronald Johnson, announced that this agreement aims to strengthen Mexico's capabilities in the fight against cartels and organized crime.
The letter of intent was signed last week by the U.S. Secretary of the Army, Daniel Driscoll, and the Mexican Ministry of National Defense.
Johnson emphasized that new technologies will help manage the security challenges both countries face.
Additionally, the ambassador mentioned that deepening cooperation in the field of security, supported by the leaders of both countries, sends a clear message to criminal groups, which will be pursued and brought to justice.
Furthermore, U.S. authorities recently handed over to Mexico three wanted fugitives, including a member of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
