Alina Gorghiu criticizes Ilie Bolojan and does not rule out the interim prime minister’s resignation

Alina Gorghiu, president of PNL Argeș and one of Ilie Bolojan’s critics, sharply criticized the interim prime minister and said she did not rule out the possibility that he might resign. The statements were made on the program “Subiectul Zilei,” hosted by Răzvan Dumitrescu on Gândul, amid the government crisis and the lack of a parliamentary majority.

Gorghiu argued that Bolojan feeds off his image as a “savior” and considers himself the “main hero.” The PNL leader compared his style to that of a film character who comes to dominate the story, saying that Romania is not in such a situation.

She said that Ilie Bolojan’s resignation could represent a necessary compromise for forming a parliamentary majority. According to her, the crisis cannot be overcome through public statements, but through concessions undertaken by political leaders in the country’s interest.

Alina Gorghiu had previously supported Adrian Veștea for the position of prime minister, although the proposal was not approved by the party leadership. After the Veștea government was rejected by Parliament, Bolojan announced that liberals who had violated the party’s decision would be expelled. So far, the expulsions have not been formalized.
