Travis Metz, a Pentagon official, stated that the United States is in the early stages of developing a national drone industry, facing difficulties in reaching the production level of Ukraine, which will produce between six and seven million FPV drones this year. In contrast, the Pentagon's program has ordered fewer than 200,000 drones by February. Metz explained that the transition from zero to 200,000 drones is a major challenge. Recently, the Pentagon instituted strict rules requiring that military drones be manufactured with parts from the U.S., complicating the construction. He also acknowledged that obtaining components, such as semiconductors, remains a problem. Metz emphasized that the U.S. is expected to compete with the Ukrainian industry, mentioning partnerships between Ukrainian and American companies as a strategy to integrate Ukrainian expertise into American production.
