At least four people were killed and another 60 were injured on Thursday after Russian forces attacked a shopping center in the city of Pavlograd, in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian authorities announced, as cited by AFP and Agerpres. The attack took place during the day, when the city center was crowded.

Ukraine’s Interior Minister, Ivan Vygivskyi, said the attack occurred approximately one hour before his announcement. The death toll was revised upward: initially, prosecutors and regional governor Oleksandr Ganja had reported three dead and 34 injured. Shops and vehicles were damaged.

Meanwhile, a Ukrainian drone attack on the city of Novi Oskol, in Russia’s Belgorod region, left one person dead and six injured, according to Russian rescue services.

The two countries have been carrying out long-range attacks for months, increasingly targeting civilian sites and strategic infrastructure. In this context, Kyiv and Moscow have said they do not rule out resuming talks with Washington, although no timetable for negotiations has yet been set.
