Mexican authorities have seized nearly three tons of cocaine and arrested four people in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, following an operation by the Coast Guard.

Mexican authorities have seized nearly three tons of cocaine and arrested four people aboard two vessels in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, according to a statement from the Mexican Navy.

The seizure took place following maritime and aerial surveillance operations conducted by the Coast Guard off the coast of the state of Oaxaca. These actions come in response to pressure from the administration of American President Donald Trump, which has intensified the fight against drug trafficking. Following the interception of the vessels, authorities found 86 packages containing approximately 2,990 kilograms of cocaine, as well as 20 containers with 1,000 liters of gasoline. The Navy estimates that the operation prevented the sale of 5.9 million drug doses, causing criminal organizations losses of approximately 37 million dollars and weakening their financial and operational structures.
