The Kremlin rejected on Tuesday the claims of European leaders who assert that Vladimir Putin wishes to restore the Soviet Union, labeling these accusations as erroneous. The Kremlin's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Putin has no intention of restoring the USSR, emphasizing that this is impossible and that the Russian president has stated this repeatedly. Peskov also denounced the comments of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, who suggested that Russia has clear intentions to attack NATO, calling these speculations "total nonsense." Putin has consistently denied having plans to attack NATO, arguing that such an action would be a mistake, considering the military superiority of the North Atlantic Alliance.
