Petr Pavel, the president of the Czech Republic, stated that Europe may need to shoot down Russian planes and drones that violate NATO airspace, according to an interview with the Sunday Times. He emphasized that if Russia continues to test the alliance's resolve, stronger measures will be necessary, including the downing of these aircraft. Pavel mentioned that Russia would not tolerate repeated violations of its airspace and that it is essential for NATO to respond in a similar manner.
Additionally, he highlighted that these violations are deliberate and well-planned, aimed at testing Western air defense systems. Recently, Poland and Romania have reported incidents related to debris from Russian drones and missiles that have fallen on their territory.
