The German newspaper Bild reported that NATO has developed strategic plans to respond to a Russian attack on a member state, especially in the event of aggression against the Baltic countries.
The plan includes stopping missile attacks and neutralizing Russian systems through fighter jets, missiles, and drones, targeting Kaliningrad as well. NATO also intends to create an "autonomous zone" at the border with Russia and Belarus, where drones and unmanned vehicles will operate without stationed soldiers.
In a later phase, NATO could launch attacks on Russian territory, targeting military and supply bases, without the intention of conquering Russia, but to push Russian troops back to the border. These plans are publicly mentioned to warn Moscow of the consequences.
In recent months, Russia has intensified incursions into NATO airspace, including in Romania, where Russian drones have been shot down by allied forces.
