NATO planes shot down a drone that entered the airspace of Latvia

NATO fighter jets on an air defense mission shot down a drone that entered the airspace of Latvia, a NATO and European Union member state, on Friday morning, announced the Latvian armed forces on X.

Finland, another EU and NATO member state that also shares a border with Russia, has temporarily restricted certain areas for air and maritime traffic in the eastern part of the Gulf of Finland, its defense forces announced on X, as a precautionary measure against possible drones.

The Latvian armed forces have not yet provided details about the drone or its origin.
