A Russian guided aerial bomb struck an apartment building in Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, on Monday morning, injuring 22 people, including children, Mayor Ihor Terekhov announced on Telegram, according to Reuters and Ukrinform.
Two floors of the building were destroyed in the attack. Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, said that, according to initial information, no one was seriously injured.
Emergency services responded at the scene of the attack to search for and rescue victims, assess the damage, and remove the consequences of the bombing.
The attack was part of a series of Russian strikes carried out overnight. In the capital, Kyiv, a Russian drone struck a gas station, according to information published by Ukrinform. Ukrainian authorities have not yet provided a complete assessment of the damage caused by the attacks.
