Wiesław Galwas, a man from Poland, set an impressive record in the deposit-return system, recycling 7,851 bottles and cans in a single day. With the help of trucks, he transported the packaging to a local store, using a recycling machine designed and built by his own company, EcoAction. This machine has the capacity to handle up to 10,000 waste items without being emptied and uses a jet of air to straighten bent bottles. The national recycling system in Poland, introduced in January 2026, offers financial rewards for recycling, and Galwas earned 3,925.50 zlotys, which he decided to donate for innovation and technology workshops for students. His performance surpassed previous records, and the technology of recycling machines will continue to evolve, with plans to eliminate paper vouchers and introduce card readers for a more efficient process.
