A man from Timișoara received a fine of 45,000 lei (approximately 8,650 euros) after being caught throwing waste from a luxury car onto public property.

Mayor Dominic Fritz shared the video footage on his Facebook page, highlighting that the man could have avoided the fine if he had taken the waste to authorized collection centers. Fritz emphasized that this anti-social behavior affects the entire community, mentioning that the municipality has spent nearly 7 million lei on cleaning up abandoned garbage in the city since the beginning of the year.

He also announced that fines of over 250,000 euros have been imposed for illegal waste dumping and assured that the local police will intensify checks to sanction those who break the law.
