A man from Poland set a record at a Lidl store, returning 1,371 refundable packages in a single visit.

He received a voucher worth 685.50 zlotys, equivalent to approximately 160 euros, which is the largest amount issued so far under Lidl's recycling program. Company representatives mentioned that the number of returned packages is constantly increasing, indicating a growing use of the recycling system.

The program allows for the return of packages without a receipt, and the deposit is refunded regardless of the store where the drinks were purchased. The record at Lidl comes after other notable performances in Poland, including a man who returned nearly 8,000 packages, receiving a voucher of 3,900 zlotys.

The deposit-return system was implemented in Poland in October, and consumers pay a deposit when purchasing drinks, which they recover upon returning the packages.
