Norway, with the largest sovereign wealth fund in the world, draws attention to public spending, including costly and inefficient projects. Critics like Sylvi Listhaug point out that, although taxation is high, services are not superior to those in other Nordic countries. Although the oil fund has prevented the 'Dutch disease', there are fears of 'Norwegian disease' due to large withdrawals from the fund. Problems in education and health persist, and stagnation in productivity raises questions about the country's economic future.
