As part of a ceasefire agreement supported by the United States, Israel has recovered the bodies of two hostages handed over by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The remains have been transferred by the Red Cross to Israeli security forces and will be identified in a medical center. So far, of the 28 bodies held by Hamas, Israel has recovered 12. The Hamas movement released the last 20 living hostages on Monday, but warned that the closure of the Rafah crossing blocks the equipment needed to search for bodies under the rubble, which will delay the recovery process. Israel conditions the reopening of this crossing on the handover of all deceased hostages.
