The Constitutional Court postponed until December 28 the decision regarding the constitutionality of the special pension law for magistrates in the form for which the Bolojan Government assumed responsibility in Parliament.

The High Court of Cassation and Justice challenged the law promoted by the Bolojan Government, stating that the pension law "violates the independence of the judiciary" and "effectively eliminates the service pension for magistrates".

The Government assumed responsibility on Tuesday, December 2, in the joint plenary of Parliament. This is the second time the Government has assumed the project. "Setting the pension at a maximum of 70 percent of the last net salary, increasing the work experience from 25 years as it is now to 35 years, and also raising the retirement age from 48, 50 years as it is today to 65 years over a transition period of approximately 15 years," Bolojan specified.
